With the status of the economy and it’s affect on the current job situation, setting yourself aside from your competitors is more important then ever. Studies show that interviewers make judgments on the people they are interviewing upon the first 30 seconds of meeting them. In order to gain the edge on your competitors, it’s imperative that within these 30 seconds, you make the best impression ever.
I can guarantee that the suit you bought for $15 and the scruffy, non-polished $10 shoes are not the thing to make the stand out impression–in a good way.
As the business world has evolved, so has the interview attire. It’s no longer appropriate for women to wear the typical black interview suit to every interview. So here are a couple ideas depending on the type of industry you’re interviewing for:

sassy, trendy, with a drop of spunk

classy, sassy, with a sense of power

artsy, prepared, with lots of fun
All of these things can be personalized to your individual style but the ultimate goal is to make a positive impression in the least amount of time. Remember that your interview begins as soon as you walk in the door so wow them!

I found your article insightful. I will get on top of my shoe game. Thankyou
thnx! and yes, please get your shoe game under control. i’m sure that i’m not the only woman that starts with shoes when checking a dude out.
Those are all pretty interview appropriate, except for the black dress..lol..save that until after you get the job!
yeah… i agree… i think that some of these accessories are a lil overbearing (though really cute) too but overall, i like the freshness of the interview attire.
No!! I do too!! Something that my mother said to me once “Don’t trust a man with leaned-over shoes.” I definitely start from the bottom up when I check dudes out.
